INSTRUCTION FOR USE
UPGRADE INSTRUCTIONS FROM OUR WEBSITE

A – Transfer instruction

1 – On your hard drive, create a new folder name it « Parrot VM »
2 – Go to our website http://www.voice-assistant.com
3 – Double click on the first page on the line Update Software a new sheet is opened
4 – Double click on the line UpdateSoftware 3.9.zip
5 – You open a window named “downloading window”
6 – To the question « Do you want to open or record the file on your computer?” and click on “OK”
7 – The window “save as” opens. On the line “save in”, select C and “Parrot VM”. Click on Save. When this save is finished, close the window and the website.
8 – In the “Parrot VM” folder you will find a compressed file. Double click on this file. A window opens. Click on “Extract”…the window Win zip is opened. Click on “I agree”. The file is unzipped close the window. The file is ready to use.
9 – Go to our website http://www.voice-assistant.com
10 – Double click on the first page on the line Backup a new sheet is opened
11 – Double click on the line Backup VoiceMate.zip
12 – You open a window named “downloading window”
13 – To the question « Do you want to open or record the file on your computer?” and click on “OK”
14 – The window “save as” opens. On the line “save in”, select C and Parrot VM. Click on Save. When this save is finished, close the window and the website.
15 – In the “Parrot VM” folder you will find a compressed file. Double click on this file. A window opens. Click on “Extract”…the window Win zip is opened. Click on “I agree”. The file is unzipped close the window. The file is ready to use.

B – Saving your data before Upgrading,

1 – In the folder “Parrot VM” open the file “Backup VoiceMate”
2 – Connect the cable between the computer and the Voice Mate
3 – Check if the Voice Mate has batteries in
4 – Double click to open “VMB2”
5 – Open “Set up”. Select the serial port you have connected the cable with, and click on OK
6 – Select “Backup” and Click on
7 – Name your file data (ex: terese.par) in window “Name”
8 – In the up window “save as” “save in”, select “BackupVoiceMate”
When you will want to restore your data, it will be immediately accessible without checking your computer
9 – Go to control panel of the Voice Mate and press MENU key
10 – With the left arrow, go to “SEND data” and press YES, Voice Mate checks the memory and says “Delay transferring progress please wait”
11 – CLIC on “Save” and wait for the message “End of data transferring”. Click on “EXIT” to close the file VMB2

C – UPGRADING THE VOICE MATE

1 – Go back to Parrot VM. Double click on “UpdateSoftware”
2 – Open the TestMMI file
3 – Check if the cable is always connected
4 – Remove the batteries out of the Voice Mate
5 – Select serial port
6 – Select the language
7 – Click on “START”
8 – Put the batteries back in the Voice Mate (1 side is enough)
9 – And ... the program starts
When you flash the Voice Mate, you read …
- “XPRAM Downloading”
- Xpram : 1% ŕ 100%
- “Flash Downloading”
- “Flash erasing”
- “Flash programming”
- 3% ..6%..so and so till 100% and you can read LAST FLASHING or FLASH OK
When you flash the Voice Mate it might just read…
- “XPRAM Downloading”
- Xpram:
And nothing else…in this case
a – Let the batteries in the Voice Mate
b – Click on STOP
c – Click on START
d – Reset the Voice Mate on the back
e – The upgrade is OK when you can read at the bottom of the yellow windows LAST FLASHING or FLASH OK
10 – Disconnect the cable from the Voice Mate
11 – Remove the batteries and put them in …you could hear the “Version 3.5” and “TELEPHONE”
12 – Close the file “TestMMI” and go back to Parrot VM

D – Downloading your data with the same program “VoiceMateBackup(2)”

1 – Open “VoiceMateBackup(2)”
2 – Open VMB2
3 – Click on “RESTORE” select the file you created previously.
4 – Connect the cable to the Voice Mate
5 – Go to control panel in the Voice Mate and press MENU key
6 – With the left arrow, go to “RECEIVE data” and press YES
7 – Listen to the instructions
8 – Every thing is ready to restore your data, click on “SAVE” and wait….
Transfer is succeed when Voice Mate says “End of data transferring”
Close all the files
